This fundraiser
is to help a very special girl. Her
name is Samantha. She was born on
December 19, 2008 with numerous
congenital heart defects: treatology
of fallot, pulmonary atresia (no
pulmonary artery), stenosis of the
aortic valve, super stenosis of the
aortic valve, thickened walls of the
heart, a blockage of the aortic
valve, a severe heart murmor, blood
flow the wrong way with two holes
she has in her heart (which are
located in the upper and bottom
chambers of her heart), and a
distorted aorta. She also has
Alagilles Syndrome ( liver disease).
Samantha was also born with
pulmonary colleterals, which are
keeping her alive, however her
pulmonary colleterals are the worst
doctors have ever seen because they
are only a 1/2 of millimeter long
and they are going to be very hard
to work with, which is one of the
biggest problems Samantha faces.
Because of all of these challenges
Samantha has a very hard time
gaining weight. She is 8 months old
and only weighs 9 lbs. 13 oz.
On Sept 11, 2009 Samantha faces the
biggest challenge of her life, open
heart surgery. This surgery can last
up to 20 hours. When she was born
the doctors told her parents to take
her home and let her pass away
peacefully. She is still HERE!
Samantha is a tough little fighter
and is determined to fight this with
her many more surgeries in her life.
She truly is a MIRACLE!
